Box Score San Antonio - The Trinity women's track & field team is now ranked 14th in the nation in the NCAA Division III by the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Poll, while the men are ranked 17th.
Led by sixth-year Head Coach Marcus Whitehead, Trinity jumped 26 positions in the poll from #40 last week to obtain the highest USTFCCCA ranking for the Trinity women's team.
A number of Trinity student-athletes have achieved high individual national rankings. Last week, Molly McCullough broke a personal-best mark in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase and is ranked third in Division III.
Britney Sullivan holds a #2 ranking in the triple jump and is eighth in the long jump. Nkolika Nweke is #6 in the 100-meter dash and 30th in the 200 meters. Andy Garza and Abigail Schneebeck are ranked 15th and 28th, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles.
Meanwhile, Trinity's men remained at their highest-ever national ranking of 17th. Matt Love is fifth in the discus on the national stage. Cody Hall is ranked eighth in the 110-meter hurdles and long jump, and 26th in the high jump. Michael Erickson is in 15th place in the steeplechase.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Christopher Stewart, Raphael Martin, Christian Matta, and Blair Walker is the #4 squad in the nation.
Trinity's men's and women's teams will compete Friday and Saturday at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Seguin, Texas.
