San Angelo, Texas - Senior Matt Love broke the Trinity record in the discus throw at the David Noble Relays on Sunday afternoon.

HIGHLIGHTS

Matt Love was competing on Sunday at Angelo State (TX) University after events were postponed on Saturday night. Love's performance was unaffected by the change, as he launched a throw of 52.60 meters to finish third in the event.

Love breaks the record of former Tiger All-American Justin Campbell, who reached 52.43 meters in 2013. 

With his third throw of the day, Love broke his personal record with a mark of 51.69 meters, but it was his fifth throw that established a new discus record for Trinity track & field.

The Tiger men's and women's teams will compete at the UIW Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14. The meet is hosted by the University of the Incarnate Word (TX).
