Three Trinity Track & Field Members Compete at Last Chance Meets

Rock Island, Illinois/Naperville, Illinois– Three members of the Tiger track & field teams made one last push for national qualifying marks at the Augustana Twilight and the Gregory Invitational on Thursday.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Matt Love threw the discus at the Augustana Twilight, surpassing 50 meters for the 11th time in his career at Trinity. He finished third in tonight's event, reaching 51.31 meters. That mark is the third-longest throw in his career and his second-best of the season.

Abigail Schneebeck and Andy Garza both ran the 400 meter hurdles at the Gregory Invitational and both finished under 1:05 in the race.

Schneebeck was fourth overall with a time of 1:03.33, which is her second-fastest time both this season and in her career.

Garza finished 10th in a competitive field, reaching the finish in 1:04.67. It marks the fourth time in the last five meets that she has run under 1:05, which she had never eclipsed previously in her career.

 

UP NEXT

The NCAA Championships will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from May 24-26 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The final list of meet participants will be made available by the NCAA on Saturday, May 19.
