Box Score 2 Newport, Rhode Island - Four members of the Trinity men's tennis team began competition at the flighted Hall of Fame ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Grass Court Invitational on Friday.
HIGHLIGHTS
In addtion to 17th-ranked Trinity, the men's teams of #2 Bowdoin (ME) College, sixth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges, and #9 Washington University in St. Louis (MO) are participating in the all NCAA Division III event at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The rankings are based on the teams' finishes after the 2018 season.
The singles and doubles flights are named after great players from the sport of tennis.
All-American Wilson Lambeth defeated Casey Morris of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the Arthur Ashe Singles Flight. Lambeth and Jordan Pitts later took out Claremont's Julian Gordy and Jack Katzman of in the Seixas/Trabert Doubles Flight.
Pitts fell to Bowdoin's Grant Urken in the Michael Stich Flight, as did Wilson Hamilton to Jack Katzman of Claremont. Cameron Krimbill came up short to Jake Williams of Claremont in the Arthur Ashe Flight.
Hamilton and Krimbill lost in doubles to Bernardo Neves and Radha Vishnubhotla of Washington in the Woodbridge/Woodforde Flight.
