Box Score 2 San Antonio - Play was halted because of rain late Friday afternoon at the men's tennis Trinity Invitational.
HIGHLIGHTS
Trinity, the University of the Incarnate Word (TX), St. Mary's (TX) University, St. Edward's (TX) University, and Laredo Community College (TX) are competing in the singles and doubles two-day flighted event.
However, a number of Trinity players claimed victories on the opening day.
Jace Akagi-Okuma won by default over Mauricio Grijalva of Laredo Community College in Flight 2 Singles. Akagi-Okuma faces UIW's Oliver Valentinsson in the semifinals at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity.
Christian Settles beat St. Mary's Brendan Brown in straight sets in Fliight 4 Singles and will meet Chase Morehouse of St. Edward's in the semis at 9:00 a.m. at UIW.
Matt Tyer won his Flight 5 Singles match, defeating Luis Bonilla of St. Mary's. Tyer takes on Zac Robinson of the University of the Incarnate Word at 11:00 a.m. on UIW's courts.
Tilden Oliver lost his Fllight 2 Singles opener and moves to consolation play. Lars Wiik came up short in Flight 4 Singles and goes to the consolation draw.
The three flights of doubles were postponed because of the weather.
