Box Score 2 Rome, Georgia - Trinity's Cameron Krimbill was edged in the main draw of Division III Men's Singles at the ITA Cup Thursday, but rallied to win his consolation round at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association event.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tiger junior came up short 6-4, 2-6, 4-6 in the first round against Vishnu Joshi of Johns Hopkins (MD) University at the Rome Tennis Center.
Krimbill bounced back to defeat Antonio Mora of Emory (GA) University 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in the consolation round.
Next on the slate are Friday's Consolation Semifinals, as Krimbill takes on Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY). Under tournament rules, it will be the final match for each player.
Krimbill earned a position in the ITA Cup by winning the ITA Southwest Region Singles Championship late last month at Georgetown, Texas.
