#13 Men's Tennis Reaches SCAC Final With Win Over Schreiner

Sherman, Texas – The 13th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team opened up the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-0 win over Schreiner (TX) University in Saturday's semifinals.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Trinity has now reached the finals of every SCAC Championship since 1992, which is a span of 28 years.

The Tigers will be seeking their 24th overall conference title, as well as trying to win their 10th consecutive SCAC crown.

Wilson Lambeth and Jordan Pitts got the scoring started by winning line one of doubles by a score of 8-0, extending their winning streak to six matches and improving their season record to 16-3.

Wilson Hamilton and Christian Settles improved to 11-3 this season after winning the third line, while Cameron Krimbill and Artur Zigman finished off the doubles sweep to improve to 9-5 on the year.

Lambeth was the first singles match to finish at line one, upping his singles record to 15-6 with his 12th consecutive victory.

Pitts saw action in the singles lineup for the first time in two weeks, snapping a two-match losing streak to clinch Trinity's team victory.

 

UP NEXT

Trinity will face Southwestern (TX) University in Sunday's SCAC Championship match, which will begin at 8:00 a.m.
