Box Score San Antonio – Trinity's women lead the field after the first day of the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships, while the men's team is in second place.

The Tiger women scored 64 total points for an 18-point lead over both Texas Lutheran University and Colorado College, while Trinity's men scored 43 points and are second behind Texas Lutheran.
Mia Loseff broke a 10-year-old SCAC record by clearing 3.73 meters in the pole vault, which also breaks her own Trinity record in the event.
Loseff is now a four-time SCAC Champion in the pole vault, becoming the second student-athlete in SCAC history to achieve that feat. Beth Swearingen of Trinity also won four straight pole vault titles from 2000-03.
Tanner Lacy won the men's pole vault as well with a mark of 4.55 meters, which moves him to third on the all-time list at Trinity, as well as tied for third in SCAC Championships history.
Emma Pool finished second for the second straight season in the women's pole vault to earn All-SCAC honors, while Raini Huynh and Stephen Ford both scored points in the men's competition.
Trinity's women swept All-SCAC honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, led by four-time SCAC Champion Molly McCullough. She is the only person in SCAC history to win the event four consecutive times.
Allison Hill was second for her second All-SCAC honors in the steeplechase, followed by Jordan Juran in third place, and Maria Nowlin also contributed team points in the event.
David Buss earned All-SCAC honors in the men's steeple, finishing third in a career-best time of 10:04.90. Simon Jernigan also scored points for the Tigers in the men's event.
Naim Barnett was the SCAC Champion in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.41 meters, which is a personal record that also moves him to second on Trinity's all-time performance list.
Andy Garza also earned All-SCAC honors for the second straight year in the women's triple jump, finishing with a career-long jump of 11.73 meters that also moves her into third on the all-time list at Trinity.
Sean Majors finished second in the javelin throw with his Trinity season-best throw of 49.41 meters. Spyridon Defteraios missed All-SCAC honors by 0.46 meters with his fourth-place throw of 48.44 meters, while Buss was fifth in the men's competition and Androniki Defteraiou earned fifth place in the women's javelin.
Robert Slaybaugh and Stephen Ford were fifth and sixth in the men's hammer throw, while Stella Affognon was also fifth on the women's side.
Samantha Simank finished fourth in the women's 10,000 meter run to start off the day, missing All-SCAC honors by less than three seconds and running 10 seconds faster than her 2019 season best.
Joshua Morgan and Brian Wongchotigul were fifth and sixth in the men's 10K, while Gabi Amaya was also sixth in the women's race.
