#11 Trinity Men's Tennis Falls to #20 Gustavus Adolphus

Claremont, California - The 11th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team lost a 6-3 dual match to #20 Gustavus Adolphus (MN) College Friday.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

The Tigers started off strong by winning two of three doubles matches. Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth won the top line, while Wilson Hamilton and Christian Settles took the third.

Gustavus evened the match at 2-2 by winning #5 singles and then took the lead by taking the top line.

Lambeth tied up the match again with a straight-sets victory at #2 singles.

The Gusties then won line four and cliched the dual match on the third line.

 

NOTABLES

Trinity had its five-match win streak snapped and now stands at 11-9 on the season with a 10-3 mark against NCAA Division III opponents, while Gustavus Adolphus improved to 12-6.

Wilson Lambeth won his eighth straight singles match and stands at 11-6 on the season.

Lambeth and Jordan Pitts won their fifth consecutive match as a doubles team and are sporting a 14-3 record.

Wilson Hamilton and Christian Settles are now 8-3 as a tandem.

The Tigers conclude their California trip Saturday by taking on #13 Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges at 9:00 a.m. PDT in Claremont.
