Naperville, Illinois - Student-athletes from Trinity's track & field teams completed competition Thursday at the North Central (IL) College Gregory Invitational.

HIGHLIGHTS

Sean Majors captured the men's long jump title with a personal-best mark of 7.17 meters. His performance was only 0.07 meters from the Trinity record, moving him into second in school history in the event.

Peyton Tuggle placed fifth in the men's 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 10.89 seconds. Tuggle's time was 0.21 seconds off his school record.

Tuggle finished sixth in the 200 meters, clocking in at 22.02 seconds, which was a mere 0.38 seconds from his personal-best mark.

Naim Barnett placed sixth in the men's triple jump at 13.71 meters.

Andy Garza was a fifth-place finisher in the women's triple jump at 11.39 meters.

Androniki Defteraiou completed the heptathlon in ninth place with 4,040 points, improving her personal-best by 73 points.  

Defteraiou ran the 800 meters Thursday in 2:46.02, just 1.34 seconds from her personal record. Her long jump mark of 4.89 meters was 0.37 meters shy of her top jump. Defteraiou placed ninth in the javelin throw.

Trinity's student-athletes will wait for possible bids Saturday to the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event is scheduled for May 23-25 at Geneva, Ohio.
