Tigers Start NCAA Championships With Impressive Performances

Box Score

Geneva, Ohio - The start of the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships featured outstanding performances from three Tiger student-athletes on Thursday.

HIGHLIGHTS

First-year Sean Majors finished 10th in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.13 meters, which is just the second time this season that he has eclipsed seven meters. He narrowly missed earning a spot in the finals and was just 0.05 meters away from eighth place and All-America recognition. Majors entered the national meet as the 20th seed.

Senior Molly McCullough placed third in the preliminaries of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:50.80. She is competing in her third consecutive NCAA meet and has now qualified for the finals for the second straight year. McCullough will compete in this year's finals at 11:30 a.m. (ET) on Saturday.

Senior Abigail Bannon-Schneebeck posted a personal-best time of 1:02.20, which was good enough for a sixth-place finish in the prelims of the women's 400-meter hurdles. She qualified for Saturday's finals, which is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. (ET).

UP NEXT

The fourth member of the Tiger contingent at this year's NCAA Championships will have his chance to race on Friday. Senior Blair Walker will compete in the preliminaries of the men's 400 meters at 3:15 p.m. (ET).
