Trinity Women Secure All-America Honors at NCAA Track & Field Meet

Box Score

Geneva, Ohio - Trinity seniors Molly McCullough and Abigail Bannon-Schneebeck earned All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

HIGHLIGHTS

McCullough turned in a fourth-place performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Bannon-Schneebeck was an eighth-place finisher in the 400-meter hurdles.

McCullough ran the steeple in 10:51.06 for the second-best finish in Trinity track & field history. Last year, McCullough just missed All-American honors by finishing ninth at the NCAA meet, and she was also 15th at nationals in 2017.

The versatile McCullough also represented Trinity in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships from 2016-2018, earning back-to-back All-America accolades the past two years.

Bannon-Schneebeck broke the Trinity record in the 400 hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:01.59 to nab eighth place. She entered the event as the 17th seed, but qualified for the finals by finishing sixth in the prelims on Thursday. Kate Dawson's previous record time of 1:02.12 stood for 12 years before being broken today.

Head Coach Marcus Whitehead wraps up his seventh season in charge of the Tiger track & field program, capped by his fifth and sixth student-athletes to win All-America honors. Under his leadership, those six have now garnered All-America recognition on eight occasions.
