Box Score San Antonio - A total of 16 Tiger track & field student-athletes earned positions on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Men's and Women's South/Southeast Region Team.
The top five individuals in each event received All-Region accolades. Trinity led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams with 16 total honorees - nine men and seven women.
Abigail Bannon-Schneebeck received two women's All-Region honors in the 400-meter hurdles and the 100-meter-hurdles. Bannon-Schneebeck earned All-America distinction in the 400 hurdles by placing eighth in last week's NCAA Division III Championships at Geneva, Ohio.
Molly McCullough turned in a fourth-place performance in the NCAA 3,000-meter steeplechase event and became an All-American in track & field. McCullough competed for the third year in the NCAA meet.
Andy Garza was awarded All-Region kudos in the women's triple jump and 400-meter hurdles. Stella Affognon picked up the honor in the discus, Makenna Bentley earned her accolade in the high jump, Mia Loseff was a standout in the pole vault, and Androniki Defteraiou excelled in the heptathlon.
Sean Majors placed 10th in the men's long jump at the NCAA Championships, missing All-America recognition by 0.05 meters. Blair Walker finished 20th in the NCAA 400 meters race. Majors and Walker joined Seve Rodriguez and Raphael Martin on the All-South/Southeast Region Team in the 4x400-meter relay.
Romeo DeLeon, Christian Matta, Christopher Stewart, and Peyton Tuggle comprised Trinity's 4x100-meter relay quartet. Tuggle also earned recognition in the 100-meter dash, while Robert Slaybaugh was honored in the discus.
Seventh-year Trinity track & field Head Coach Marcus Whitehead can claim six student-athletes who have garnered All-America distinction on eight occasions during his tenure.
