Box Score Houston, Texas - The Trinity men's and women's track & field teams took on NCAA Division I and other scholarship athletes in their season-opening Leonard Hilton Memorial indoor meet Friday at the University of Houston.
HIGHLIGHTS
Senior Androniki Defteraiou posted a personal-best indoor time in the women's 60-meter hurdles at 9.45 seconds.
First-year Jordyn White placed 15th of a field of 27 in the long jump, posting a mark of 5.15 meters. Selina Noe, also a first-year Tiger, finished 20th.
Senior Andy Garza competed in the indoor triple jump for the first time and jumped 10.81 meters for ninth place. White was right behind her teammate by 0.01 meters, and Noe trailed the senior by 0.03 meters.
Sean Majors placed 10th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.64 meters, just 0.24 meters off his best indoor performance.
First-year Ethan Gilmore made his collegiate debut with an 11th-place finish (out of 21 runners) in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 52.39 seconds.
Majors, Gilmore, Raphael Martin, and Daniel D'Rovencourt were ninth-place finishers in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:33.18.
Robert Slaybaugh finished ninth of sixteen in the shot put at 13.86 meters. His mark was 0.62 meters off his indoor personal best.
