Box Score 2 San Antonio - The 13th-ranked Trinity men's tennis wrapped up its home weekend with a 6-3 victory over #16 Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges Sunday afternoon.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers won their fifth straight match and upped their overall record to 7-6 with a 6-1 mark against NCAA Division III opponents. The Sagehens dropped to 3-3 with the loss.
Trinity opened the match at the Al G. Hill Junior Tennis Stadium with a 2-1 lead after doubles.
Jordan Pitts and Cameron Krimbill won the top line, while Christian Settles and Hao Nguyen took the second. Wilson Hamilton and Artur Zigman came up short at #3 doubles.
Pomona-Pitzer tied the match as Krimbill lost at #1 singles. Hamilton won the third match, Pitts took the second, and Settles supplied the clincher at #5 singles.
Nguyen lost a tough three-setter on the fourth line, and Zigman closed out the match by winning #6 singles in three sets.
Settles and Nguyen had a perfect weekend and upped their mark as a doubles team to 8-0.
Pitts and Krimbill also went undefeated and stand at 4-4.
Pitts, Settles, and Zigman posted 3-0 singles records over the weekend, while Hamilton finished at 2-0. Settles is sporting a 6-2 record, Pitts is 7-6, Hamilton stands at 5-4, and Zigman upped his record to 4-3.
