Box Score 2 San Antonio - The Trinity men's tennis team moved up a position and is now ranked 12th by the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) D-III Poll.
Led by 11th-year Head Coach Russell McMindes, the Tigers are on a five-match win streak and stand at 7-6 overall. Trinity has amassed a 6-1 record against NCAA Division III opponents.
Trinity posted a 3-0 mark in home matches last weekend, beginning with 9-0 wins over then-39th ranked California Lutheran University and Concordia (TX) University on Saturday. Sunday's weekend finale resulted in a 6-3 Tiger victory over 16th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges.
Christian Settles was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week, while Jordan Pitts and Cameron Krimbill were tabbed as the SCAC Doubles Team of the Week.
The Tigers have five D-III teams ranked in the top 30 of the new ITA poll on their remaining schedule this seson, beginning with home contests against 14th-ranked University of Mary Washington (VA) and #30 Kalamazoo (MI) College March 21 and March 23, respectively.
Trinity will travel to Boston, Massachusetts, March 27-29 for three road matches. The Tigers will face fifth-ranked Amherst (MA) College and #8 Brandeis (MA) University, as well as taking on Division I Harvard (MA) University during the weekend.
The Tigers will also hit the road to square off against #24 Southwestern (TX) University in a showdown between two schools from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference on April 9.
Up next for Trinity will be home matches against Hardin-Simmons (TX) University and Texas Lutheran University on Friday, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Tigers will host the SCAC Championships April 17-19.
