Box Score San Angelo, Texas – The Tiger men's and women's track & field teams competed at the David Noble Relays this week, hosted by Angelo State University.
Highlights
Sean Majors (Fredericksburg, Texas / Fredericksburg) won the men's long jump with his third jump of the season of more than seven meters. He won the competition by reaching 7.11 meters, which is his second-longest mark this season. Majors also posted a time of 22.27 seconds in the 200-meter dash for his fastest time this season. Elijah Wade (Waco, Texas / Vanguard) also posted a season-best mark of 6.59 meters in the long jump.
Robert Slaybaugh (Missouri City, Elkins) topped 40 meters in the hammer throw for the first time in his career, moving up to third on Trinity's all-time performance list. He reached 40.69 meters for a new personal record, as well as posting a season-high 42.69-meter distance in the discus.
Jacob Winchester (Houston, Texas / Katy Taylor) threw his way into the top 10 in school history with his mark of 53.43 in the javelin. The throw is a new personal record and puts him seventh on the all-time list at Trinity. He also threw a season-long 39.01 meters in the discus.
Bailey Dueitt (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands) also moved up a spot on Trinity's top 10 list after clearing 3.15 meters in the pole vault on Friday. Dueitt is seventh in school history with her new personal-best height.
Also setting a new personal record was Jordyn White (St. Louis, Mo. / Lutheran North) in the 100-meter dash. White sprinted to the finish in 12.70 seconds to improve her standing in Tiger track & field history. She also finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.30 meters. Selina Noe (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) also matched her season-best by reaching 5.20 meters for seventh place in the long jump.
Justin Johnson (Houston, Texas / Manvel) finished the 110-meter hurdles in 15.67 seconds and reached 13.69 meters to finish fourth in the triple jump. Both are new season-best performances for the first-year Tiger.
Evan Witt (Midland, Texas / Trinity) and Naim Barnett (Austin, Texas / Round Rock) both set new season-best times in the 100-meter dash at the David Noble Relays. Witt led the way with a time of 11.28 seconds, while Barnett finished in 11.59 seconds.
Maggie Nava (San Antonio, Texas / Holy Cross) scored new season-best marks in both the javelin, the hammer, and the discus throws. Kierra Francois (Rosharon, Texas / Arlington) also had her season-best mark in the javelin, while Emma Ross (Kansas City, Kan. / Shawnee Mission South) did the same in the discus.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team also etched their names in the Tiger record books by finishing in 3:19.87 at the David Noble Relays. Majors was joined by Seve Rodriguez (Waimea, Hawaii / La Canada), Ethan Gilmore (Houston, Texas / Lamar), and Josue Parra (Niles, Ill. / Maine East) for a time that is now third in school history.
