KINGSVILLE, Texas - Senior Tanner Lacy (Oak Ridge North, Texas / Oak Ridge) of Trinity University Track & Field led an abbreviated roster at the Cactus Cup Friday on the campus of NCAA II Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a new season-best 4.65-meter pole vault.
Peyton Bohlinger (Mercer Island, Wash. / Mercer Island) logged a personal-best, as well as a top-three finish, as the junior maneuvered over a 1.55-meter bar on the high jump. The new best-performance is within three inches of the NCAA III top-25. Kyra Stafford (Albuquerque, N.M. / Hope Christian) joined Bohlinger with a runner-up finish in the triple jump that was inches away from her season-best leap, which remains just outside the top-50 in NCAA III.
Jackson White (Boerne, Texas / Boerne) and Kierra Francois (Rosharon, Texas / Arlington) each posted top-three performances as well. White's 4:26.14 in the men's 1,500 meters checked into the runner-up slot while Francois floated the hammer 42.32 meters for third in the women's hammer throw.
Pierce Jackson's (Addison, Texas / Dallas Jesuit) personal-best javelin performance led a quartet of PRs through the rest of the Trinity field. The Tiger rookie improved by nearly 19 feet in the event with a 43.87-meter fling, which landed seventh in Friday's event.
