SHERMAN, Texas - No. 8 Trinity University Men's Tennis returned to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday with a road shutout at Austin College, 9-0.
The Tigers (13-6, 3-0 SCAC) collected straigt-sets victories across the board with fresh faces mixed into the lineup along with a shuffle of doubles partners. Christian Settles (Claremont, Calif. / Claremont) hooked up with Wilson Hamilton (Austin, Texas / ATA Prep) for the first time this season for a line-one shutout, followed closely by Cameron Krimbill (Phoenix, Ariz. / Desert Mountain) and Eric Liao (Taipei, Taiwan / Boca Prep) with an 8-1 mark in line two.
By virtue of a default in line six singles, Allen Song (Portland, Ore. / Lincoln) was credited with the match-clincher in line five on a 6-0, 6-2 output. Connor Whittington (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) sealed up Trinity's seventh shutout victory of the season with a straight-sets shutout in line four.
No. 8 Trinity Men's Tennis returns to San Antonio next weekend for Friday exhibition matchup with NCAA II Dallas Baptist University. Senior Day festivities at the Newman Tennis Center will preceed the match's 3 p.m. start time.
