SAN ANTONIO – The Tiger men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Trinity Last Chance Meet on Sunday, which not only gave the teams another shot to qualify for the NCAA III Championships, but also a chance to compete at home one last time this season.
For many of the Trinity contingent today, another chance to compete also meant another assault on the record book before the season closes. The Tiger men and women combined to win four events, but had numerous other performances that either moved them up the all-time Trinity rankings, or improved the times and distances that already had them in the top 10.
Madeline Wietstruck (Houston, Texas / Northland Christian) won the women's pole vault after clearing 3.50 meters to improve on her third-place ranking in school history, and setting a new personal record for the third consecutive meet.
Adrian Suarez (Carrollton, Texas / Greenhill) was third in the men's pole vault with a new PR of 4.46 meters and moved up to sixth in school history.
Joy Areola (Tomball, Texas / Rosehill Christian) won the women's triple jump with a leap of 11.17 meters, while
Aliya Noe (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) hit 10.73 meters to finish third and collect a new personal record.

Casey Hampton (Houston, Texas / Westbury Christian) took the top spot in the men's long jump after hitting 7.20 meters. That is just 0.02 meters from his career best and is the third time in his career that he has jumped 7.20 meters or better. Noe also reached a new PR with her jump of 5.27 meters in the women's long jump, which put her 10th in school history.
Cooper Tyler (Austin, Texas / Anderson) was the winner in the men's javelin with a throw of 57.44 meters, which is the second-best in his career and stands less than one meter from his own record.
Heath Schake (Wimberley, Texas / Wimberley) had a pair of new personal records in both the hammer throw and the shot put. He finished third in the hammer with a throw of 41.96 meters to improve on his No. 4 ranking in school history, then he also marked 13.35 meters to finish third in the shot put with a new personal best.
