#7 Men's Tennis Seeking 14th Straight SCAC Title

The seventh-ranked Tiger Men's Tennis team looks to claim its 14th straight SCAC Championship this weekend.

The Tigers (13-8) dominated the two of the top teams in the conference just last weekend. Trinity started their weekend with a 6-3 win over nationally-ranked Southwestern. Then, the Tigers defeated the Tigers of Colorado 7-2. By adding those two victories, Trinity extends its winning streak to four games.

SCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week - Connor Whittington

For the first time this season, junior Connor Whittington (Lake Oswego, Oregon / Lake Oswego) has been selected as the SCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

From the SCAC Press Release: Whittington notched a pair of singles victories as the sixth-ranked Tiger men's tennis defeated both Southwestern and Colorado College over the weekend. Whittington scored the first point of singles in the win over Southwestern, winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles to make it a 3-1 match score at the time. He came back Saturday morning and put Trinity up 6-0 with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at line two.

Preview - SCAC Championships

The Tigers claim the No. 1 overall seed for the tournament and will take on the No. 8 seed University of Dallas on Thursday, April 25th at 7:00 PM at Sherman High School. The match was moved moved due to expected weather in the area on Friday.

On the Dallas Crusaders: The Crusaders have struggled to the tune of a 1-13 season. The Crusaders have been swept in all but four of their losses this season and picked up their lone win against Sul Ross State 7-2 on April 13th. Their losses have also not been close, some of their sets have ended without the Crusaders winning a game. So, the Tigers are in a good spot to move on to the next round.
