LUBBOCK, Texas – The Trinity University men's and women's track & field teams closed out the Jarvis Scott Open on Saturday, which was hosted by Texas Tech University over the past two days.
The Tigers had 10 men and 14 women competing on Saturday with all but one competing on the track.
The women's 1000-meter run saw a strong showing from
Emerson Voldan (Arlington, Texas / Mansfield Summit), who secured a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:02.10. She was joined by
Carly Hunt (McKinney, Texas / Boyd), who placed 13th at 3:21.20. The men's 1000-meter run featured a top five performance from
Sebastian Langer (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake), who finished fourth in 2:30.55.
Jesus Rojas (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) followed with a 13th-place finish at 2:36.36.
In the women's 600-yard run,
Halle Hamilton ( / ) finished 16th with a time of 1:27.99, while
Annette Smith (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) crossed the line in 18th at 1:29.99.
Lillian Broussard (Houston, Texas / National Christian) followed closely behind in 20th place, clocking 1:30.63. In the men's 600-yard run, sophomore
Jackson Gallagher (Ft. Worth, Texas / Southwest Christian) clocked 1:14.41 to finish 25th.
In the women's 3000-meter run, Trinity had a solid representation, with
Charlotte Martin (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) finishing 17th at 10:48.24. She was followed by
Cali Good (Yucaipa, Calif. / Yucaipa), who took 19th with a time of 10:52.27.
Josette Gurule (Santa Fe, N.M. / Academy for Technology and the Classics) placed 21st at 10:59.63, with
Anne Snider (Waco, Texas / Live Oak Classical) just behind in 22nd at 11:00.50.
Krista Wolfhope (Austin, Texas / Vista Ridge) rounded out the group in 28th, crossing the line at 11:22.88.
On the men's side,
Legend Grigsby (Houston, Texas / Cypress Creek) competed in the men's 200-meter dash B section, finishing 40th with a time of 22.25 seconds.
Ryan Forson ( / ) ran in the same section, placing 60th at 23.03 seconds.
In the men's 1-mile run, junior
Thomas Melina-Raab (Austin, Texas / McCallum) placed 18th, crossing the finish line in 4:20.51. Senior
Dashiell Browne (Lantana, Texas / Guyer) finished 49th with a time of 4:41.66.
In the women's triple jump,
Joy Areola (Tomball, Texas / Rosehill Christian) placed 13th, reaching a mark of 11.97 meters (39-3.25).
Kyle Fix (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) represented Trinity in the men's 3000-meter run, finishing 15th at 8:58.11.
Danya Selber (Edinburg, Texas / Robert Vela) finished the 200 meters in 26.30 to finish 51st.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
CC Gray (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Notre Dame Prep), Hamilton, Broussard, and Smith finished 25th with a time of 3:57.22. Trinity's men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Price Schultea (Cypress, Texas / Cypress Christian), Gallagher, Forson, and
Nicolas Ladreyt (Santa Monica, Calif. / Harvard-Westlake School) took 25th with a time of 3:29.25.
