The Tigers will play their quarterfinal match on Friday, April 25, at 10 a.m.

On the McMurry War Hawks: The War Hawks come into the conference tournament as the 8th seed in the SCAC (Not Ranked Nationally). The War Hawks are 4-9 this spring, including victories against Austin College 7-0, the 11th seed coming into the SCAC tournament, and Schreiner University 4-3, the 10th seed in this year's SCAC tournament. Of the War Hawks' nine defeats, seven have come via sweep, including by Concordia and Southwestern. The War Hawks will rely on senior Nicolas Villalovos to have a standout performance. Villalovos is 2-9 this spring with his two wins coming against Schreiner 6-3, 6-3 and Howard Payne 6-1, 6-4. Earlier this spring, Trinity swept McMurry 7-0. Trinity has never lost to the War Hawks, making it a tall task for McMurry should they defeat Dallas in the first round of the SCAC tournament.

On the Dallas Crusaders: The Crusaders come into the conference tournament as the 9th seed in the SCAC (Not Ranked Nationally). Similar to McMurry, the Crusaders are 4-8, including victories against Austin College 7-0, who is the 11th seed coming into the SCAC tournament, and Schreiner University 4-3, the 10th seed in this year's SCAC tournament. The Crusaders were bested by the 7th-seeded St. Thomas 3-4, the 5th-seeded Ozarks 1-5, and were swept by the 4th seed Concordia (TX) and the 2nd seed Southwestern. Dallas will hope that Shu-Lun Chang will have a standout performance. Chang holds an impressive 9-3 record this spring, defeating his opponent from St. Thomas 7-6, 6-2, and Ozarks 6-7, 7-5, 7-5. Last time, the Tigers defeated the Crusaders 5-0 in the 2023-2024 season. The Tigers' all time record against the Crusaders is a perfect 1-0. If Dallas manages to pull off an upset against McMurry, they will have a tall task defeating this highly talented Tiger Tennis Team.
