GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trinity University softball had five student-athletes selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.
Senior
Sydney Watson (San Antonio, Texas / San Antonio Christian) and junior
Carsyn Lee (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound) were joined by sophomores
Ella Whitacre (Roanoke, Texas / Byron Nelson),
Samantha Tagawa (Agoura Hills, Calif. / Agoura), and
Josephine Koelewyn (Reno, Nev. / Academy of Arts Careers and Technology) on this year's team. Watson is the only repeat winner for the Tigers, having also received the honor last season.
All five Trinity players were represented on this year's All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams, with Lee and Whitacre also earning National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region accolades. The group holds seven combined SCAC Academic Honor Roll awards with Lee and Watson also picking up NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2023.
The Tigers broke the school record for wins in a single season for the second straight year in 2025, finishing with a 32-12 overall record that included a 23-7 mark in SCAC play.
