No. 14 Tiger Men's Tennis Returns To The Butch Against Concordia and UMHB

No. 14 Tiger Men's Tennis begins Home Matches with a Double Header

The No. 14 Trinity University Tigers Men's Tennis returns home for the first time this season on Saturday, hosting a doubleheader at the Butch Newman Tennis Center. Trinity will face Concordia University Texas Tornados Men's Tennis at 9:30 a.m., followed by University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders Men's Tennis at 3:00 p.m.

After opening the season on the road against NCAA Division II Lubbock Christian and NCAA Division I Abilene Christian, the Tigers return to San Antonio tested and battle ready. Competing against higher division opponents gave Trinity early experience in tight doubles matches and physical three set singles battles. Now they look to translate that experience into momentum at home.

Now Trinity begins its push to establish control at home

Concordia enters the weekend 1-0 after a 7-0 sweep of Texas Lutheran. The Tornados secured the doubles point with wins at the top two flights and carried that confidence into singles, where they picked up five straight set victories. Concordia will look to establish early control in doubles, so a strong start from Trinity will be key.

UMHB also comes in undefeated after a 7-0 sweep of McMurry. The Crusaders were dominant in doubles and controlled singles with multiple straight-set wins. They face Southwestern University Pirates Men's Tennis on Thursday before traveling to San Antonio, meaning Trinity could see a confident and match ready team in the afternoon matchup. UMHB plays disciplined and physical tennis, so focus and composure will be critical in the second match of the day.

With two matches on the schedule, the day will demand steady focus and composure from start to finish. Trinity returns home looking to compete with confidence and turn early season experience into momentum as the year progresses.

Looking Ahead

Trinity travels to California next weekend to face University of Redlands Bulldogs Men's Tennis on February 21 at 11:00 a.m. PT and Occidental College Tigers Men's Tennis on February 22 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
