More Records Fall for Tiger Track & Field at Howie Ryan Invite

Houston, TEXAS – The Trinity track and field team competed for the final time before the SAA Indoor Championships today at the Howie Ryan Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas. The Tigers tacked on to their already successful season with some more big results across the board. Today will have given the squad some well-timed confidence as they prepare to compete in the first indoor conference championship in program history.

School Records, Because Last Week Wasn't Enough

Men's 800-Meter
Men's mid-distance was responsible for both school records today, kicked off by Kyle Fix's (Wilmette, Illinois / New Trier) comeback victory in the men's 800-meter, running 1:53.24 to smash the previous record by over a second and a half. Fix closed a substantial gap over the final 400 meters to take an emphatic heat win by just a tenth of a second. He took fifth overall and now ranks 29th in NCAA DIII with his all-conditions PR.

Men's 3,000-Meter
One could only describe Elijah Bliss's (Garden Ridge, Texas / Davenport) performance in the men's 3,000-meter as blissful, moving up throughout the race to take second in his heat with an 8:41.57.
