No. 14 Tiger Men's Tennis Heads West for California Matchups
The No. 14 Trinity University Tigers Men's Tennis travels to California this weekend following a dominant 7-0 sweep over Concordia University Texas Tornados Men's Tennis. Trinity will face University of Redlands Bulldogs Men's Tennis on Saturday, February 21, before taking on Occidental College Tigers Men's Tennis on Sunday, February 22.
Coming off a clean sweep at home, the Tigers head west with momentum and confidence across the lineup. Trinity controlled doubles early against Concordia and carried that energy into singles, showing depth and sharp execution from top to bottom.
Redlands enters the weekend after picking up two convincing wins, defeating Ottawa (AZ) 6-1 and Stanton 7-0. The Bulldogs have been strong in doubles, securing early points in both matches, and have shown consistency in singles with multiple straight set victories across the lineup. They will host No. 32 Brandeis prior to Trinity's arrival, meaning the Tigers will face a team that is both in rhythm and battle tested.
Occidental picked up its first win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Ventura College, rallying after dropping the doubles point to secure four singles wins. The Tigers of Occidental proved resilient in tight three-set matches and will look to bring that same fight on their home courts.
For Trinity, this road trip is about staying composed away from home and building consistency against strong West Coast opponents.Â
Looking Ahead
Trinity returns home March 9, 10, and 11 for a challenging stretch against Washington University in St. Louis, Swarthmore College, and Case Western Reserve University.Â
