The Trinity men's tennis team heads to California this weekend for the Sagehen Invitational, where they'll face one of the strongest fields of the season.
Trinity enters the trip coming off a competitive stretch at home that included a 4–3 win over No. 15 Washington University and another tight 4–3 victory over No. 3 Case Western Reserve. The Tigers also dropped a 5–2 decision to No. 9 Swarthmore, showing just how close the margins have been against top-10 and top-15 opponents.
The weekend opens with a matchup against No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday morning. Claremont enters at 13–0 and has consistently handled opponents with depth across the lineup, making it one of the toughest tests in Division III right now.
Later matches in the invite are still to be determined, but the structure of the event means Trinity will continue to see high-level competition throughout the weekend. With multiple ranked teams in the field, each match presents another opportunity to compete against some of the best in the country.
Overall, the Sagehen Invitational sets up as one of the most challenging stretches of the spring so far, with Trinity stepping into a field that should closely mirror postseason-level competition.
