CANTON, Ga. – The Trinity University men's tennis team had four players earn All-Southern Athletic Association honors for the 2026 season, as announced by the league office.
Kishan Kersten (Plano, Texas / West) led the way for the Tigers, earning the SAA Athlete of the Year award. Kersten is Trinity's #1 singles player this season and has won eight straight matches heading into this weekend's SAA Championships. Trinity is the #2 seed in the tournament and received a first-round bye. Kersten earned All-SCAC honors in both singles (Second Team) and doubles (First Team) in his first season with the Tigers in 2024-25. This past fall, he won the ITA Regional Sinlges Championship to qualify for the ITA Cup and ITA All-American honors.
Kersten and
Jared Perry (Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills) were both named to the All-SAA First Team in singles, while also teaming up to earn a spot on the All-SAA First Team in doubles. Perry is a three-time All-Conference performer, having earned First Team All-SCAC honors in singles the past two seasons, as well as doubles in 2024. Perry also represented the Tigers on the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team.
Ethan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) and
Roshin Kamath (League City, Texas / Clear Springs) were recognized as All-SAA Second Team doubles players, with both individuals also snagging spots on the All-SAA Second Team in singles. Flores earned First Team All-Conference honors in doubles in 2024, with this season being the first singles award. Kamath picked up the first All-Conference honors of his career, though he and Flores were ITA Regional Doubles Champions to earn All-American recognition.
The Tigers are led by Head Coach
Russell McMindes and head into the weekend tournament with a 12-7 overall record and a 5-1 conference record. Trinity has won six consecutive matches coming into the SAA Championships. This is Trinity's first season in the SAA, though the Tiger men's tennis program won 29 SCAC Championships from 1992-2025. The Tigers face the winner of #3 seed Southwestern University (TX) and #6 seed Oglethorpe University (GA) in the SAA Semifinals on Saturday, April 25, at 9:00 a.m. The SAA Championship Match will be Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
