MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Trinity track and field team wrapped up day one of competition at the SAA Outdoor Championships today, hosted by Berry College. After a mixed day of prelims and finals, both teams find themselves firmly in second with their eyes on the No. 1 position in day two.

Finals
The women started the day with a bang, as
Anne Snider (Waco, Texas / Live Oak Classical) and
Gianna Keena (Lakeway, Texas / Lake Travis) went 1-2 in the women's 10,000-meter. Snider picked up her first conference victory, running 37:22.72 in her collegiate debut in the event. She moves into eighth in program history with the time, just beating out Head Coach
Emily Daum's collegiate best for the second meet in a row. Keena ran 37:48.77 to take second and earn her third straight All-SAA honor.
Elijah Bliss (Garden Ridge, Texas / Davenport) was the lone scorer in the men's 10,000-meter, taking eighth in his collegiate debut of the event with a time of 32:43.44. His time moves him into seventh in program history and is the fastest time ever run by a first-year Tiger.
George Mikhael (Livermore, Calif. / Granada) took ninth, running 32:47 in his event debut to move into ninth in program history.
Ayoob Ismael (Concord, N.H. / Concord) was fifth in the men's javelin throw in a PR of 50.71m.
Ian Zahner (Thornton, Colo. / Stargate) grabbed third in the men's hammer throw in 48.37m, earning his first all-conference nod.
Aaron Chang (Fullerton, Calif. / Valley Christian) took sixth in 43.75m.
Rachel Bell (Manvel, Texas / Lutheran South Academy) was fifth in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 42.52m.
As they did indoors, the women picked up major points in the pole vault, led by
Addison Doss (Sugar Land, Texas / Logos Preparatory Academy) and
Milena Otoo (Mount Holly, N.J. / Rancocas Valley Regional), who each cleared 3.26m to share third place. Doss earned her third straight all-conference honor, while Otoo set a PR for her first all-SAA performance and stayed in ninth place in program history.
Chloe McCloskey (La Vernia, Texas / La Vernia) took fifth in 3.26m, followed by
Victoria Baker (San Antonio, Texas / Alamo Heights) tied for sixth in 3.11m, and
Bridget Roth's (Houston, Texas / Second Baptist) eighth-place finish in 2.96m.
Boone Partee (New Braunfels, Texas / New Braunfels) took fourth in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 4.07m.
Jaden Martens (San Antonio, Texas / Churchill) took sixth after clearing 3.77m, while
Adrian Suarez (Carrollton, Texas / Greenhill) and
Seth Jacobs (Santa Fe, Texas / Santa Fe) shared seventh place in 3.62m.
Annabelle Lanik (Sugar Land, Texas / St. John's) was second in the women's long jump in 5.86m, her eighth all-conference nod in just two years, with more likely to come this weekend. Gaylord took eighth place in a PR of 5.22m.
Kaleem Howard (Jacksboro, Texas / Jacksboro) picked up fourth in the men's long jump, breaking seven meters for the first time with a jump of 7.02m to move into seventh in program history.
Bocar Diagana (Edina, Minn. / Edina) also picked up points with his eighth-place jump of 6.39m.
Kelsey Edwards (San Antonio, Texas / Communications Arts) took fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running a PR of 12:00.91. Sophia Munoz (Austin, Texas / Austin) was close behind, running a PR of 12:02.43 for fifth.
Logan Nasky (Irving, Texas / MacArthur) took second in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:49.18, followed by Brady Peifer (Odessa, Fla. / Steinbrenner) in a PR of 9:52.03 for third, setting a new Trinity freshman record to move into tenth in program history. It's both Tigers' first all-SAA nod. Chase Vogler (Allen, Texas / Allen) took sixth in a PR of 10:06.20, while Nico Murphy (Cedar Park, Texas / Vista Ridge) took seventh in a PR of 10:14.52.
Prelims
The Tigers sent all three runners through to the finals in the women's 100-meter hurdles, led by Gaylord's fourth-place time of 15.58.
Ciandra Carrico (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) picked up seventh in 16.47, while
Avery Parvin (San Antonio, Texas / Providence) took the final qualifying spot of eighth in a PR of 16.51.
Trinity also sent everyone through in the men's 110-meter hurdles, led by
Kris Duggan (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson), who earned himself an automatic qualifying bid by taking the heat win in 15.41. Howard took fourth in 15.50, while
Henry Selman (Lakeway, Texas / Lake Travis) picked up seventh in 16.53.
The trend continued in the women's 400-meter, as McCloskey and
Brightly Thoning (Homer, Alaska / Homer) both went through after running 1:01.34 for sixth and 1:01.62 for seventh, respectively. McCloskey set a slight PR with her time, as both runners made it through to tomorrow's finals.
Jackson Gallagher (Ft. Worth, Texas / Southwest Christian) took seventh in 49.58 to qualify for finals in the men's 400-meter dash.
Lanik crushed her PR in the women's 100-meter to take the heat win and set a new school record of 11.89, becoming the first Tiger ever to dip under 12 seconds.
Shifa Daredia (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) also made it through, taking the final qualifying spot with her eighth-place time of 12.31.
Orie Piken (Torrance, Calif. / West Torrance) qualified in the men's 100-meter, taking fifth place in 10.94.
Gaylord made it through in the women's 400-meter hurdles with her third-place time of 1:05.98.
All three Tigers made it through in the men's 400-meter hurdles, as Howard won his heat in 57.68, Selman took fifth in 59.96 and Duggan grabbed eighth in 1:00.22.
Lanik took her second heat win of the day in the women's 200-meter, qualifying for finals in 24.56. Daredia took the final qualifying spot in eighth with a time of 25.15.
Piken took second in his heat of the men's 200-meter in 21.85 to qualify for tomorrow's finals.

The Tigers will be back in action for day two of competition tomorrow, looking to wrap up finals and bring some hardware back to San Antonio.
