DALLAS – The Trinity track and field team competed at the SMU Invitational this weekend, picking up some quality marks and mixing up the NCAA Division III list in the process.
Kris Duggan (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) took 14th in the men's 110-hurdles in 15.16.
Ryan Forson (Dallas, Texas / Parish Episcopal School) was 18th in the men's 400-meter with a time of 50.55.
Halle Hamilton (Craig, Colo. / Moffat County) took 11th in the women's 800-meter with her time of 2:15.28, followed by
Ciara Catton (Leander, Texas / Leander) in 13th in 2:15.73.
Annette Smith (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) set a SB of 2:16.98 for 15th.
Kyle Fix (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) set a big PR in the men's 800-meter, taking 10th in 1:51.57 to stay in third place in program history. He moves into 17th on the DIII list.
Sebastian Langer (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) also set a PR of 1:52.82 to take 12th, moving into fourth in program history and 55th on the DIII list. Last season, the last time into nationals was 1:50.49.
Emerson Voldan (Arlington, Texas / Mansfield Summit) led the way for the Tigers in the women's 1500-meter, taking 18th overall in 4:41.28.
Josette Gurule (Santa Fe, N.M. / Academy for Technology and the Classics) was close behind, taking 23rd in 4:43.82, followed by
Gianna Keena (Lakeway, Texas / Lake Travis) in 27th with her time of 4:45.16 after her 5000-meter PR the previous night.
Esperanza Vazquez (Houston, Texas / Incarnate Word High School) took 36th in a PR of 4:50.67.
Bryce Williams (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) was the top Tiger in the men's 1500-meter, taking 15th in a PR of 4:00.51.
Dashiell Browne (Lantana, Texas / Guyer) also set a PR, taking 21st in 4:05.97.
Brady Peifer (Odessa, Fla. / Steinbrenner) ran 9:53.05 in the men's 3000-meter steeple to take third.
Anne Snider (Waco, Texas / Live Oak Classical) continued her streak of PR's, taking fourth in the women's 5000-meter in 17:26.58. She still ranks third in school history and moves into 88th in DIII. Keena was just behind in fifth with a PR of 17:34.31, moving her into sixth in program history.
Ayoob Ismael (Concord, N.H. / Concord) took eighth in the men's javelin with his throw of 47.03m.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will head back home for the Trinity Last Chance Meet on May 10, followed by the Augustana Last Chance Meet on May 13.
