MINNEAPOLIS – The #21 Trinity University football team had five players recognized as All-Region by D3football.com for the 2025 season. The Tigers had two players named to the First Team, two more to the Second Team, and one on the Third Team.
Senior offensive lineman
Caleb Bayer (Grandview, Texas / Grandview) and junior wide receiver
Alejandro Tavarez (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) were both selected for the First Team. Bayer, who was also just named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association, led an offense that averaged more than 36 points per game and 433.5 yards per game that includes 190.8 yards rushing as a team. Tavarez led Trinity's receiving corps with 1,001 yards and 15 touchdowns on 60 receptions. This marks just the seventh time a Tiger receiver has topped 1,000 yards in a season and Tavarez is the fifth player to reach the milestone.
Senior offensive lineman
Conner Keele (Lampasas, Texas / Lampasas) and senior linebacker
TJ Scannell (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) were named to the Second Team, while fifth-year defensive lineman
Jonathan Nwobodo (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) was recognized on the Third Team. Keele is a three-year starter on the offensive line, and along with Bayer, anchored the line for a unit that ranked 35th in Division III in total offense this season. Scannell led the Tiger defense with 89 tackles and 12.5 tackles for loss this season, as well as recording 5.0 sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. Nwobodo led the team with 6.0 sacks along with 11.0 tackles for loss among his 32 total stops. This is the second straight All-Region honor for Nwobodo, who was also a D3football.com Preseason All-American this year.
Led by Head Coach
Jerheme Urban, Trinity finished the 2025 season with a 10-2 overall record and qualified for the NCAA Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. It also marks the fourth time in the last five years that the Tigers have won 10 or more games.
