SAN MARCOS, Texas — The Trinity Tigers' track & field team traveled to Texas State for day one of their two-meet weekend. The Tigers competed in the 1500-meter run and the 3000-meter steeplechase where they saw a slew of personal records and heat wins.
In heat one of the women's 1500-meter, sophomore
Annette Smith (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) took seventh in a personal record of 4:46.36. Freshman
Emerson Voldan followed her up with a commanding win in the second heat, posting a personal record of 4:46.89 and taking a three second win.
The men's 1500-meter followed, where junior
Thomas Melina Raab (Austin, Texas / McCallum) ran a personal record of 3:55.90 to take the win. He was followed closely by senior
Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) in 3:56.64. Freshman
Kyle Fix dipped under four minutes with a personal record of 3:59.04 while junior Jesús Rojas grabbed a personal record of 4:05.34. Junior
Nathaniel Trevino (San Antonio, Texas / Central Catholic) secured the last personal record of the group, running 4:12.61 to take fifth in the second heat.

Logan Nasky (Irving, Texas / MacArthur) was the sole representative for the Tigers in the 3000-meter steeplechase, running a personal record of 9:53.27 to take the win.
The Tigers are back on the oval tomorrow with the full team competing at the D3 Challenge at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. The team looks to carry the momentum set by the distance quad into a meet at which they have historically set some early nation-leading marks across the board.
