Trinity Women's Track & Field Claims SCAC Title; Men Finish Second

SEGUIN, Texas — Trinity's women's track & field team won the 2025 SCAC championship, and the men claimed second as both teams caused major shifting in the school and national lists. The Tigers won five individual conference titles and had 30 All-SCAC performances.

DISTANCE
Day 3 began with the men's 5,000-meter, where Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) took second place in a season-best 14:43.37. Logan Nasky (Irving, Texas / MacArthur) also scored, taking sixth in a season-best 15:30.08 after his third-place finish in the steeplechase yesterday.

Gianna Keena (Lakeway, Texas / Lake Travis) was the lone scorer for Trinity in the women's 5,000-meter, taking sixth place in 18:03.13.

In the men's 1500-meter, Thomas Melina Raab (Austin, Texas / McCallum) and Salony took second and third in a tactical race that led to an exciting last lap. Melina Raab finished in 4:00.84 with Salony just behind in 4:03.71. It is Salony's fourth All-SCAC nod in the 1500 in four years. Kyle Fix (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) followed just behind in 4:03.88, and Jesus Rojas (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) nabbed eighth in 4:06.95.

The Trinity all-time list saw major movement in the women's 1500-meter. Josette Gurule (Santa Fe, N.M. / Academy for Technology and the Classics) took third in a PR 4:42.27, moving her to third in program history. Emerson Voldan (Arlington, Texas / Mansfield Summit) finished just behind in a PR 4:43.73 to become fifth on Trinity's all-time list.

Ryan Tresaugue (Spring, Texas / The Woodlands) took second in the men's 800-meter in a PR 1:51.92, improving on his spot in second on Trinity's all-time list and moving him to 30th on the NCAA Division III list. It is Tresaugue's second straight All-SCAC performance in the 800. The Tigers scored four as Melina Raab took fourth in 1:54.85, Jackson Gallagher (Ft. Worth, Texas / Southwest Christian) took fourth in 1:59.34 and Jared Gallagher (Ft. Worth, Texas / Southwest Christian) took eighth.

Annette Smith (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) broke her own school record in the women's 800-meter, finishing second in 2:15.21. Halle Hamilton ( / ) and Voldan took fourth and fifth in 2:19.40 and 2:20.88, respectively.

SPRINTS
Legend Grigsby (Houston, Texas / Cypress Creek) broke the school record in the men's 100-meter, running a PR of 10.66 to take seventh. He also moves to 44th on the Division III list.

In the women's 100-meter, Nia Scott (Dickinson, Texas / Dickinson) took third in a PR 12.08, moving her to third in program history and 47th on the Division III list. Annabelle Lanik (Sugar Land, Texas / St. John's), who tied the school record in the prelims yesterday, finished fourth in 12.14.

Price Schultea (Cypress, Texas / Cypress Christian) took third in the men's 200-meter dash in a season-best 21.62. He has earned All-SCAC honors in the 200 in both of his years at Trinity.
Lanik took second in the women's 200-meter dash in 25.25. Scott finished fourth in a PR 25.56, moving her to seventh on Trinity's all-time list.

Schultea took fourth in the men's 400-meter with a PR 47.99, improving on his position as second in program history. He is one of only two runners in Trinity history to break 48 seconds. He also moves to 32nd on the Division III list. Nicolas Ladreyt (Santa Monica, Calif. / Harvard-Westlake School) took fifth in a PR 48.19, moving him to fourth in program history and 42nd on the Division III list.

Lillian Broussard (Houston, Texas / National Christian) took sixth in the women's 400-meter in 1:00.16.

HURDLES
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Kris Duggan (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) took second in a season-best 14.91. It is his second straight All-SCAC nod in the event. Kaleem Howard (Jacksboro, Texas / Jacksboro) took fifth in 15.34.
Danya Selber (Edinburg, Texas / Robert Vela) returned from her school-record performance in the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims to win the finals in 14.15.
Howard returned to take third in the men's 400-meter hurdles in a PR 56.87. Duggan took sixth in a season-best 58.13.
Selber finished second in the women's 400-meter hurdles in a PR 1:03.97, improving on her place as seventh in program history. She also moves to 42nd on the Division III list.
RELAYS
Trinity's 4x100-meter squad of Grigsby, Moises Lopez Guarneros (Mexico City, Mexico / TMI Episcopal), Ryan Forson ( / ) and Schultea took second in 41.34, moving them to fifth in program history. It also puts them at 36th on the Division III list.

The women's 4x100-meter squad of Scott, Selber, Shifa Daredia ( / ) and Lanik also took second, running 47.77 to move into third in program history and 45th in Division III.

The men's 4x400-meter team of Ladreyt, Forson, Jackson Gallagher and Schultea finished second in 3:15.22.

The women's 4x400-meter team of Smith, Broussard, Voldan and Hamilton took third in 4:00.35.

JUMPS
Jaden Martens (San Antonio, Texas / Churchill) took the final scoring position in the men's pole vault in a season-best 3.98 m. Seth Jacobs (Santa Fe, Texas / Santa Fe) was just outside of scoring in ninth, also clearing 3.98 m.

Addison Doss (Sugar Land, Texas / Logos Preparatory Academy) took third in the women's pole vault in a PR 3.48 m, improving on her fourth-place position on Trinity's all-time list. Victoria Baker (San Antonio, Texas / Alamo Heights) took fourth, clearing 3.18 m.

THROWS
In the men's discus, Caydon Ferrell (Beaumont, Texas / Hamshire-Fannett) took fourth with a throw of 43.78 m, Jack Witkow (Port Washington, N.Y. / Paul Schreiber) took sixth with a PR 43.40 m and LaJaylen Brown (Dallas, Texas / Poteet) took the final scoring position, finishing eighth with a PR 42.43 m. Witkow's throw moves him into eighth on Trinity's all-time list.

In the women's discus, Madeline Seabolt (San Diego, Calif. / Mt. Carmel) took second at 38.34 m and Rachel Bell (Manvel, Texas / Lutheran South Academy) took third at 38.33 m.

FINAL RESULTS
After three days of competition, the women emerged on top with 191 points. They were followed by McMurry University in second with 163.5 and Colorado College in third with 155.
McMurry won the men's championship with 218 points, although Trinity closed the projected gap significantly, scoring 173. Colorado College came in third with 124.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Tigers have only just begun their championship season. Next on the schedule, they will travel to the University of Houston for the Cameron Burrell Invitational on May 2. That meet will begin a series of qualifiers in which those Trinity runners who aren't already a shoo-in for NCAA Nationals will look to qualify before the qualifying window closes on May 15.
